Various sizes - modular system

I was getting tired of the pain of working on the garage floor. Every project meant kneeling, bending, and aching the next day. I needed a proper workspace.
While searching for workbench ideas on YouTube, I stumbled across Bear Mountain Builds. Their modular workbench system immediately appealed to me for several reasons:
• Modular design – build what you need, expand later
• On wheels – can be moved around the garage as needed
• Multi-purpose – serves as workbench, miter saw station, rolling storage
• Temporary setup friendly – perfect for a shared garage space
I followed the Bear Mountain Builds plans and built a few different pieces:
• Main workbench – a solid work surface at a comfortable standing height
• Miter saw station – with wings that fold out for long board support
• Rolling storage carts – for organizing tools and materials
The construction is straightforward – mostly 2x4 frames with plywood tops and shelves. The key is getting everything the same height so they can work together as one big surface when needed.
Adding locking casters to everything was a game-changer. I can roll the benches together for a big assembly, spread them apart for different operations, or push everything against the wall when I need to park the car in the garage.
This flexibility is perfect for a garage shop that has to share space with, you know, actual cars.
No more working on the floor! Having proper work surfaces at the right height makes every project more enjoyable. My back thanks me.
These benches have become the foundation of my shop. Everything else builds on top of having a proper place to work. If you're starting out in woodworking, I'd highly recommend checking out Bear Mountain Builds – their modular system is perfect for beginners.
